Is your son a 1st Class Scout and 13 or older (or about to turn 13)? I’d love for you to consider registering and sending them to NYLT if they haven’t already registered. NYLT stands for National Youth Leader Training and is the top leadership training that our Scouts can attend in our Council. It’s a 2 weekend course that is primarily taught and led by other Scouts who have successfully completed NYLT in the past. There are Adult staff (like me) operating in the background to help facilitate the course, but the goal is for the course to be lead by the Youth Staff memebers, just like our Troop and Troop meetings are Youth lead. Please take a look at the forwarded information. A number of the staff for this course are from our Troop so there will be familiar faces. This is a great opportunity for your sons to learn more about what it means to be a leader and to develop skills to become better leaders in our Troop and community. If you have any questions please let me know! ...
